Dr. Fayyaz joined SickKids in 2016 as a PEM Fellow and is currently a Staff Physician and Assistant Professor, University of Toronto. Dr. Fayyaz graduated from Pakistan and worked as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) faculty at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) for 5 years. She was among the few leaders in Pakistan with the EM specialty recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 2011. Later, she worked at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) for 3 years and led the implementa􀆟on of the Canadian Triage and Acuity
Scale (CTAS), followed by a quality improvement ini􀆟a􀆟ve u􀆟lizing the LEAN Sigma methodology. In 2016 she started her PEM fellowship at SickKids, followed by a one-year Simula􀆟on fellowship. In 2018, she completed her master’s degree in health professional educa􀆟on from Aga Khan University Hospital, followed by Ph.D. in simula􀆟on from the MGH IHP, an affiliate of Harvard, USA. She is appointed recently as Simkids Medical director. Dr. Fayyaz is the PEM interna􀆟onal fellowship program director and resuscita􀆟on lead. Dr. Fayyaz is also the Interna􀆟onal Paediatric Simula􀆟on Society (IPSS) - INSPIRE PED Simula􀆟on fellowship Chair and Board of INSPIRE and IPSS directors. Being passionate about u􀆟lizing distance simula􀆟on for community outreach and capacity building, In the last 3 years, she worked with Indus Hospital and the health network; she has implemented a simula􀆟on-based PEM curriculum for EM residents and a one-year PEM cer􀆟fica􀆟on program with 27 physicians gradua􀆟ng in July 2023. A Simula􀆟on instructor course for faculty development was implemented, and more than 50 educators have been trained for simula􀆟on-based educa􀆟on in Pakistan. Her interna􀆟onal work con􀆟nued in India, Egypt, and Ireland. In addi􀆟on, at SickKids, Dr. Fayyaz is the resuscita􀆟on lead for the competency-based medical educa􀆟on program (CBME) for Faculty, Faculty lead for the Hot wash debriefing program, Chair resuscita􀆟on oversight commitee and ED lead for CPR coach role implementa􀆟on. Dr. Terry Klassen is a highly regarded clinician scientist in pediatric emergency medicine who has had a highly successful academic leadership career in a variety of areas. Dr. Klassen is well known for excellence in clinical trials, as well as knowledge synthesis and translation. He is the co-founder of Pediatric Emergency Research Canada (PERC) and Scientific Director of Translating Emergency Knowledge for Kids (TREKK), a Network of Centres of Excellence in Knowledge Mobilization initiative. Through TREKK and PERC, Dr. Klassen was able to create and disseminate knowledge that has resulted in fewer hospital admissions for children with croup. Dr. Klassen has a strong vision to align pediatric research efforts across the country. In recognition of his lifetime contributions, he was inducted into the National Academy of Medicine in 2010 in the foreign associate category. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. His research has had a large impact on the practice of pediatric emergency medicine, which was recognized when he received a 2011 Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) – Canadian Medical Association Journal Top Achievements in Health Research Award. In 2020, Dr. Klassen was awarded a Canada Research Chair Tier 1 in Clinical Trials.

Simon Craig is a Paediatric Emergency Physician working at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, Australia. He has a strong interest in clinical research, and is currently chair of the Australia/NZ PREDICT network and the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine ED Epidemiology Network. He is an editor of the last two editions of the "Textbook of Paediatric Emergency Medicine" (Elsevier), the "Paediatric Emergency Medication Book" (originally developed in Australia, but now adapted for India and Latin America), and the recently-released "Paediatric Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine for Low- and Middle-Income Countries" (Thieme). In his spare time he is (very) slowly completing a PhD in acute severe asthma, which has been conducted within the global Pediatric Emergency Research Networks (PERN), however, has in recent years discovered how much time can be wasted on what used to be called Twitter!

Prof.Jim Huntley is Professor of paediatric orthopaedics. He attended Oxford and Cambridge Universities, obtaining medical degrees, Master of Surgery, DPhil and a Full Blue in Rugby League. He did his orthopaedic residency in Edinburgh and fellowship at the Starship Hospital New Zealand. He worked as an attending surgeon in Glasgow, Scotland for 10 years, and then at Sidra Medicine in Qatar for 6 years. He won the ABC Traveling Fellowship in 2012. He has written over 140 papers and chapters, and was co-author and editor of 3 major academic textbooks: Pediatric Orthopaedics – an evidence-based approach to clinical questions (2017), The pediatric and adolescent hip – essentials and evidence (2019), and Storytelling in Medicine: how narrative improves practice (2023). He joined the University of Utah in 2023, and practices at Primary Children's Hospital, Salt Lake City

Dr. Ameneh Amini is PEM fellow at SickKids Hospital, a program affiliated with the University of Toronto in Canada since August of 2022. Dr. Amini completed her General Pediatric Residency training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada in July of 2022. Dr. Amini completed both her undergraduate education as well as her medical training at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Amini also holds a Master of Public health from the University of Johns Hopkins, class of 2018. Dr. Amini’s areas of interest include POCUS and simulation.

Dr. Camilo E. Gutierrez is an internationally recognized Pediatric Emergency
Physician, with experience as a clinician, educator, and expert in international
pediatric emergency care. Director of Global Health Programs for the Division
of Emergency Medicine at Children’s National Hospital, and Associate
Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at George Washington
University School of Medicine, in Washington DC.
Dr. Gutierrez is a key opinion leader at the advisory level in the development of acute care systems at
the local, country and regional level globally, with emphasis in development of pediatric acute and
emergency care systems.
He is Immediate Past-Chair for the ACEP International EM Section, and active in the International and
Ambassador Committees. Internationally he is Immediate Past-Chair of the Pediatric Emergency
Medicine Special Interest Group of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine, and member of
the Specialty Implementation, Education, and Curriculum Committees. He is Founding and Board
Member of the first Latin American Pediatric EM Society (SLEPE).
Dr. Gutierrez is a recognized speaker both locally and in over a dozen countries where he has presented
over 100 lectures and has authored over 60 publications. His interests expand on international and
global health care arenas, development of pediatric acute care systems, pediatric trauma and critical
care in the ED, ultrasound, shock, difficult airway management and procedural sedation.
He is past Chair and Medical Director of the EMS-C Advisory Committee for Massachusetts, past Co-
Chair of the MACEP Pediatric EM Section, and has served as VP of the Global Emergency Medicine
Academy of SAEM, through AAEM International Committee has been involved in collaborating with
leading Pediatric EM topics and speakers for their international conferences.
Dr. Gutierrez has established an international reputation as a leader, supporter, and promoter of the
importance of pediatric emergency care in regions worldwide. He is sought after for his opinion, his
capacity to network, craft partnerships and engage stakeholders as he advocates for the care of children
globally.

Dr. Pople is a graduate of Sheffield University, UK and did his neurosurgical training in Leeds, Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Bristol and Memphis USA where he did his fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Prior to joining Sidra Medicine as the Chief of Neurosurgery, Dr. Pople was Senior Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, UK, where he led the development of the Epilepsy Surgery and SDR services for Children and performed over 2000 pediatric neurosurgical procedures. For the first 20 years of his career he was a consultant neurosurgeon at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol dealing with over 500 cases a year including all types and head and spinal trauma.

James Chamberlain is Director of Data Analytics for the Division of Emergency Medicine at Children’s National Hospital, Washington, DC, USA, and Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He performs research in health services around practice pattern variation and disparities in care for minority populations. He leads multi-institutional clinical trials for the treatment of status epilepticus in children and is a founding member of PERN, the international Pediatric Emergency Research Network of networks. He has led multiple intramural quality improvement efforts and recently began a partnership with a regional hospital system to improve care in community EDs.

Vince Choudhery is a graduate of Glasgow University, originally trained in primary care before transferring into Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics. He was then appointed attending in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow in 2007 where he worked as a fulltime practitioner. He joined Sidra Medicine and spent an enjoyable and fulfilling year and a half in the Paediatric Emergency Department between 2018 and 2019 as a senior attending, before returned to Glasgow to take up Clinical Lead of Paediatric Emergency Medicine. Vince currently leads the busiest Paediatric Emergency Department in Scotland and in the top 3 of attendances in the United Kingdom, which is also the only stand-alone Paediatric Major Trauma Centre in Scotland. His interests include paediatric trauma, sedation and medical education.

Dr. Brisseau is a cutting edge pediatric general and thoracic surgeon as well as an acclaimed surgical educator. He is a board certified general surgeon as well as a pediatric surgeon. These dual boards are held in two countries , USA and Canada. Having practiced in both countries he brings this clinical expertise to Doha at the Sidra Medical and Research Center. Pediatric surgeons care for the most vulnerable members in our society. They care for children born with congenital anomalies as well as those with cancer. Anatomically pediatric surgeons care for the complete child. These include problems of the head and neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis as well as soft tissues. Along with a wealth of broad clinical experience, Dr. Brisseau is also an advanced minimally invasive surgeon and an expert in pediatric trauma. Besides his clinical expertise Dr. Brisseau is an awarded medical educator having developed programs in a variety of areas including simulation and distance education. His academic area of research is in medical education.

Dr Niall Mullen is a Consultant In Paediatric Emergency Medicine at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. He is a clinical researcher and the current chair of the Paediatric Emergency Research in the UK and Ireland (PERUKI) research organisation."

Dr. Hoffman (US) is a pediatric emergency physician and medical toxicologist. He completed residency and fellowship training in pediatrics, medical toxicology, and pediatric emergency medicine in New York City. After initially practicing pediatric EM and toxicology in New York City, Dr. Hoffman relocated to the GCC where he has focused on developing these specialties in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and currently Kuwait."

Dr. Kuppermann is a Distinguished Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, and the Bo Tomas Brofeldt Endowed Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at UC Davis, and the Associate Dean for Global Health at UC Davis Health. He is a pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) physician and clinical epidemiologist, and a leader in emergency medical services for children, particularly in multicenter research. His focus is on clinical trials and clinical prediction rules using large cohorts of acutely ill and injured children. He has published works in all three focus areas in high-impact journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, BMJ, and the Lancet. Dr. Kuppermann has received more than $50 million in federal grants and contracts as a PI or Co-PI, and has published more than 300 peer-reviewed publications (Hirsch Index 75). He has been a leader in multicenter research in PEM, starting by chairing the first U.S. research network in PEM (the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Collaborative Research Committee of the AAP) from 1996-2000. He then became the founding Chair of the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) since it’s inception in 2001 until late in 2008, and remains one of the 7 network PIs. He recently completed a 4-year term as Chair of the Executive Committee of the (global) Pediatric Emergency Research Network (PERN), and continues as a leader in PERN.
Dr. Kuppermann has been recognized nationally and internationally for his research and mentorship with many awards. In 2017 a PEM Scientific Research Mentoring award was named after him by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, and in 2020 he was awarded the UC Davis Hibbard Williams Extraordinary Achievement Award and the Faculty Distinguished Research Award, the most prestigious awards at UC Davis. He was a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar in the U.K. and in 2010 was elected to the National Academy of Medicine. In 2022 he was the recipient of the Maureen Andrew Mentor Award from the Society for Pediatric Research.

Keri Cohn, MD MPH, DTMH trained in pediatric emergency medicine & infectious diseases, public health, tropical medicine, and global health. She the Director of Global Health in emergency medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and associate professor of Pediatrics at Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She has dedicated her career to global health emergencies, having worked with many international organizations worldwide. As Medical Director of Bioreponse, she supports CHOP both in outbreak response, and as a PA Regional Special Pathogens Treatment Center. She serves on the American Academy of Pediatrics section on global health executive board as well as on the Academic Pediatric Association Global Health Pediatric Accreditation executive subcommittee to further global health initiatives nationally

Dr Amna Hussain is a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant. She graduated from Guy's King's and St Thomas School of Medicine and completed her training in London. She was one of the leads involved in the activation of Sidra Emergency Department from 2017 to 2021 and was clinical lead for Minor and Moderate trauma. She was also ED representative for Sidra Credentialling and Privileging committee and line manager for nurse practitioners and junior attending physicians.

Amna has worked in various hospitals in the UK as PEM consultant, including Birmingham Childrens' Hospital and King's College Hospital, London. She has a particular interest in examination and is a Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Angoff Board member- setting the pass rate for AKP and TAS written MRCPCH examinations. She is a member of RCPCH speciality training recruitment committee and panel chair for RCPCH subspeciality interviews.

Amna is working at Sunderland Royal Hospital as PEM consultant, where she also is involved in training and running the Emergency Nurse Practitioners course. She is currently completing an Msc. in Trauma Sciences (Military and humanitarian) at Queen Mary University, London.

Dazhe (James) Cao, MD, FACEP, FACMT is currently an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, the Division Chief of Medical Toxicology at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, the Program Director for the Medical Toxicology fellowship, and the Medical Director of Toxicology Service for Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from the emergency medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC and then completed a medical toxicology fellowship at Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Safety in Denver, CO. He has published on a range of topics including laboratory interference, lipid emulsion therapy, cannabis, and toxic alcohols. His current research is in novel adsorbents for overdoses. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology.

Lisa Goldsworthy is a consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She started in Sidra Medicine in November 2018 as departmental lead for quality and more recently works as medical director. She has brought experience of over 20yrs as consultant in the UK and now has added 5yrs in Qatar.

The team at Sidra emergency medicine strives to sustain delivery of a high standard of care across all types of emergency presentations. It is the emergency “front door” of Sidra Medicine and is established as the pediatric major trauma centre for Qatar.
Attendances in 2023 reached 109,000. Lisa is responsible for aspects of quality and monitoring of performance.

A paediatrician by ‘upbringing’, during her career in a specialist children’s hospital, (part of University Hospitals Bristol), she worked as a general and ambulatory paediatrician, oversaw the establishment of a fully functional Pediatric Emergency department in 2001. She helped draft the UK national training curriculum for emergency physicians (RCEM) and pediatric trainees (RCPCH), for doctors sub-specializing in pediatric emergency medicine. Lisa also worked closely with local GPs (family medicine practitioner equivalents) both clinically, to establish patient pathways and also in their postgraduate training programs in pediatrics, as well as working in a unique GP with special interest (GPSI) pediatrics OP setting. The Bristol Children’s Emergency Department became the Major Trauma Centre for the South West region in 2014.

Lisa also worked as the Named Doctor for child protection for UHBristol for 9 years, until 2018 and has extensive experience of local and regional safeguarding procedures and case management. She was part of the team for setting up the nationally mandated, multiagency investigation into Childhood Unexpected Death.

Main goals at present are: to keep training enthusiastic young graduates, develop Sidra Clinical Audit program and maintain high standard clinical care through both individual practices and systems improvements.

Dr. Khalid Alyafei holds the position as Division Chief, Medical Informatics and is a senior attending physician in the pediatric emergency department at Sidra Medicine. Dr. Alyafei has engaged in medical informatics since 2009 where he participated as SME and was an active member on the steering committee pre opening at Sidra Medicine. He became deputy CMIO in 2013 then Division CMIO in Nov 2017.  In addition to his role in CMIO, and his clinical duties, Dr Alyafei is also the Medical Director for Life Support Services for Sidra Medicine, which is an AHA accredited institution. Dr. Alyafei has a lengthy experience in clinical operations, leadership, education and medical informatics. He held the position as program director for the PEM fellowship at HMC from 2008-2014. He assists in resident training & faculty development by providing didactic lectures and workshops in communication and medical professionalism. Dr. Alyafei is actively involved in many research studies, and is a strong advocate in public education with special interest in injury prevention, home safety, and child abuse prevention. Dr. Alyafei received his MD from Arabian Gulf University- medical college, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain in 1997.  He completed his post-doctoral training in pediatrics and then completed a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at the Children Hospital of Western Ontario, London Ontario Canada in 2007. Dr. Alyafei is a board-certified pediatrician and also board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has a Master Degree in Leadership from Georgetown University.  Dr. Alyafei is a member in several professional memberships for emergency medicine and medical informatics.

Dr. Rafah Sayyed is a Pediatric Senior Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Center Al Sadd at Hamad General Hospital in Doha, Qatar. She joined Hamad Medical Corporation in 2005 after completing the Jordanian Board of Pediatrics in 2004. Prior to joining HMC, she worked at the University of Jordan and Al Basheer Hospital in Amman, Jordan. She is interested in Research and Critical Care Management, has published in this area and is currently involved in ongoing research projects at the PEC. Dr. Rafah has been a speaker in QPEM since year 1, sharing her knowledge and expertise as a medical professional. She is also on faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College and Qatar University, giving education and bedside training to medical students. She is also an Advanced Life Support instructor of the Advanced Life Support Group (UK), an instructor in the HMC Pediatric Safe Procedural Sedation Course and the Emergency Medicine Pediatric Airway course.

Dr. Leena Amine is currently the manager of the Qatar Poison Center in Doha Qatar. She is also a specialist in poison information and a clinical pharmacist in emergency medicine. She holds dual board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist and a critical care pharmacist. Prior to joining Sidra Medicine, she was an emergency medicine clinical pharmacist at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison Wisconsin. She completed her residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago and obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Mercer University in Atlanta Georgia, where she also completed poison center and toxicology training at the Georgia Poison Center.

Dr. Bashir Yousef MB Bch (Tripoli/Libya), MRCP(UK), MRCPCH, CCT, FRCPCH is the Associated Director of Pediatric Emergency Fellowship training program in Qatar, Assistant professor of clinical paediatrics and clinical emergency medicine, WCM-Q

Dr Tajeldin is a consultant in Emergency Medicine. He obtained his MBBS from University of Gezira, Sudan. He completed his Fellowship in Emergency Medicine (FRCEM) at the Royal College of Emergency Medicine-UK and was awarded a certificate of completion of training (CCT) in the UK. He worked in different hospitals in England and Wales. Dr Tajeldin is an instructor for the advanced resuscitation courses including ALS, APLS and ATLS. Before joining Sidra in November 2018, he worked as a consultant in Emergency Medicine in Morriston Hospital, Swansea. Dr Tajeldin’s special interest is in quality improvement in health care, health promotion and patient education. He led successful quality improvement projects in the UK and Sidra ED. He is currently the patient education lead in the Sidra Emergency Department. Using technology and principles of quality improvement, he is leading the transformation of education material delivery to patients and families attending the Emergecny Department Outside work he enjoys photography and film editing.

Dr. Sheik Abdul Razak is an Attending Physician currently working in the ED at Sidra Medicine where he also holds the title of Quality Lead for the Department.  He works in conjunction with the Sidra Medicine Quality and Safety Committee, working to maintain a very high standard of both quality and patient safety in the busy ED. He previously worked as Consultant Pediatrician in York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since February from 2015 to 2018. After completion of Post graduate Diploma in Child Health in Madras Medical College, he completed his Pediatric training in the UK. He was an undergraduate lead and Honorary Lecturer of Hull & York Medical School. Dr. Abdul Razak was Royal College Tutor before started his work in Sidra. He regularly instructs in Advanced Pediatric Life Support course (UK).

Yazeed Eldos, MD is an Attending Physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He serves as the Medical Director of the Qatar Poison Center, and Director of the Medical Toxicology Fellowship Program at Sidra Medicine. Interests include Addiction Medicine, and Heavy Metal Toxicity.

 

Dr. Fathi Toaimah is a Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Asssociate Professor in Pediatrics at Qatar University and Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCM-Q). His clinical work focuses on pediatric emergency care which ranges from common clinical problems to life-threatening conditions. He has been interested in clinical research with a focus on medical emergencies, bronchiolitis, gastroenteritis, and he is currently an active member of the Academic Committee at Pediatric Emergency Center Alsadd and has published several papers in peer reviewed medical journals. Dr. Fatihi is an experienced teacher and currently a speaker for the research methodology training program which targets healthcare professionals at HMC. His internship and residency training program have been completed at Zagazig University Children’s Hospital, Egypt and he then earned his doctorate in pediatrics (PhD) in 2000. He joined the staff of HMC in 2003 and became a faculty member of WCM-Q in 2012.

Dr. Abdelmoneem Elsheikh PEM Fellow Sidra Medicine/Hamad Medical Corporation fellowship program, Qatar, 2021. Dr. Elsheikh  is a Pediatric Specialist in Ministry of health Republic of Sudan. He obtained a clinical MD in pediatrics and child health after he completed 4 years in Pediatric Residency program 2019 from Sudanese Medical Specialize Board. He graduated from Omdurman Islamic University, Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, Sudan.

Dr. Ahmad Alshami is currently a Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Center Al Sadd, Pediatrics Department of Hamad General Hospital which is part of the Hamad Medical Corporation. Dr. Ahmad has Doctor’s Degree in Medicine from Damascus University in Syria, has Arab Board of Health Specialization in Pediatrics, European Board in Pediatrics, and has completed Fellowship Training Program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine from HMC. He has license to practice in Pediatrics from the Syrian Ministry of Health and from Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners. Dr. Amene Hermi completed her medical school and internship at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, Tunisia. In November 2016, she joined the ACGME-I accredited pediatric residency program in Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar. Since September 2021, she has joined the Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship program, a joint program HMC-Sidra Medicine, Qatar. Apart from PEM, she has strong interests in research and medical education.

Dr Muhammad Ather, MBBS, DPM, MRCPsych is currently working as Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Sidra Medicine and Assistant Professor of clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College Doha. He is Chair of Psychiatry Scientific Committee for Grand rounds, Chair Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) for ACGME Fellowship Programme and Director for CAMHS Sidra Outpatient. Whilst in Sidra Dr Ather has authored book chapters, peer review papers and had been a valued reviewer for many high impact medical journals. Dr Ather is a member of Qatar National Mental Health & Wellbeing Priority Population Group-Taskforce for Co-Occurring Disorders and he has co-authored a national document on co-occurring disorders. Dr Ather also worked as a Member, International Advisory Board of Journal of Pakistan Psychiatric Society which is Published by Pakistan Psychiatric Society, Pakistan.

Before Joining Sidra Dr. Muhammad worked Aneurin Bevin University Health Board (ABUHB), in UK as a consultant Child, Adolescent Psychiatrist, and Led the community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services for the Caerphilly County borough, he also led the Child and Adolescent substance misuse service for the ABUHB. Dr Ather worked as a GMC approved clinical supervisor, mentor and ABUHB lead for teaching and training of medical students and child psychiatry trainees. He has been teaching child psychiatry for more than 17 years. He was an examiner for Cardiff Medical School and has regularly organized training for MRCPsych candidates. He has organized and delivered training to schoolteachers, social workers, police officers and other allied health professionals on child mental health and child protection. Dr Ather was member of Complex Needs (CN) and Integrated Service for Children with Additional Needs (ISCAN) panels of Caerphilly County, Wales, UK.

Dr Ather has over 25 years of clinical experience. Dr Ather is highly experienced in assessing and managing common, rare and complex psychiatric and behavioral disorders of the child and adolescent population. He is particularly interested in the psychopharmacological management of neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, and Tourette’s), substance misuse disorders, mood disorders, early intervention for psychosis and eating disorders. Dr Ather was ABUHB Lead Child Psychiatrist for psychopharmacological treatments for neuro-developmental Disorders in Children and Adolescent.

Dr Ather strongly believes in confidentiality, informed consent and consentitual sharing of information.
Dr Ather is an international speaker, and has delivered talks on neuro developmental disorders (ADHD, Autism), substance misuse disorders, Confidentiality, first episode psychosis, eating disorders and stress related psychiatric problems. Dr Ather has special interest in the management of Challenging behaviors associated with autism spectrum disorder.

Dr. Abdelrahman Salem is a graduate of university of health sciences, Lahore – Pakistan. Soon after medical school he worked with doctors without borders for one year. In May 2019, he joined the ACGME-I accredited pediatric residency program in Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar. Since September 2023, he has joined the Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship program, Sidra Medicine, Qatar. Apart from PEM, he has strong interests in Pediatric trauma and medical education.

  Muhammad is a UK trained Emergency Medicine physician who completed training in the UK in 1999, and went on to train in adult Emergency Medicine.  He also has extensive experience caring for children.  He has been at Sidra Medicine for almost 3 years working as a consultant  physician.  He has a special interest in pediatric trauma, as well as in quality governance.  He is the former lead for morbidity and mortality in the ED, and the current Pediatric Quality and Trauma Lead for the ED at Sidra Medicine.

Aisha Muhamad completed her studies at the University of Calgary- Qatar where she studied nursing. She worked in the pediatric emergency center Al Saad- HMC as a Nurse Manager for 2 years prior to her move to Sidra Medicine, where she continues in a Clinical Nurse Lead role.   She is the Quality Lead- Nursing in the Pediatric ED where she has been actively involved in many quality improvement projects.  She has lead the Sepsis improvement project, heavily involved in reported event management and  currently leading the narcotic and dangerous psychotropic medication  in Pediatric Emergency Sidra

Ruth Adeola is a Clinical Nurse Facilitator at Sidra Medicine Pediatric Emergency Department. Prior to joining Sidra Medicine in 2017, she worked at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, USA, as the Injury and Violence Prevention Program Coordinator. She has a Bachelor’s of Nursing degree from East Carolina University, North Carolina and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA. She belongs to the Nursing Honor Society- Sigma Theta Tau and is also a member of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN). She co-authored for the American Trauma Society (ATS) Injury Prevention Coordinators Course. She has published articles in the Journal of Trauma Nursing and presented at nation-wide Injury/Violence prevention and trauma conferences in the United States. She currently co-leads on quality improvement project on hand hygiene compliance in her department.

Frankie Nolasco Famillaran is a Nurse Educator in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Sidra Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, a Master's in Nursing, and a Diploma in Critical Care. Prior to his role at Sidra, Frankie served as a Nurse Educator specializing in Emergency, Trauma and Critical Care at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh. He was a faculty member for several prestigious programs, including the Diploma in Critical Care, Advanced Diploma in Cardiac Care, Diploma in Oncology, Diploma in Emergency, and Advanced Stroke Care programs at the National Neuroscience Institute at KFMC and SCFHS. He also served as the program lead for the "Ministry of Health - Emergency Departments Development Program," which aimed to facilitate the acquisition of the required knowledge and skills to provide a high standard of care for all Emergency Departments across the kingdom. He is currently the course director of ENPC here in Qatar.

Shazia is a Pediatric emergency clinical pharmacist at Sidra Medicine. She earned her Master of Pharmacy from University of Bradford, UK after which she completed her Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical and Health Services Pharmacy at University of Manchester. Prior to joining Sidra, Shazia was the lead pharmacist for Medicines Information and Professional Secretary for Pediatric Medicines Management Committee at Central Manchester Foundation Trust after which she worked at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh. Shazia has experience in both pediatric and adult acute medicine, and internal medicine.

Miguelle Aoun is a seasoned clinical nurse specializing in Emergency care, boasting a decade of experience in the field. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Lebanese American University and is currently pursuing her MSc in Critical Care and Leadership at the University of Glasgow. Miguelle plays a pivotal role as the Child and Mental Health Service (CAMHS) nurse in the Emergency Department. She is instrumental in educating nurses and primary care practitioners on managing suicidal patients. Certified as a Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor with the American Heart Association, Miguelle is also actively involved in emergency research, she is currently the research nurse for the clinical trial being led in ED.

Mohamad Ali Sbeity is a Clinical Nurse Leader in Emergency department, Sidra Medicine, Nursing lead for sepsis, AHA and ATCN instructor with 11 years of Emergency experience.

Mr. Vernon Naidoo, a South African Critical Care Paramedic-Educator with a Master's in Higher Education, PGCert and PGDiploma in Teaching & Learning in higher education (UK), and a BHSc in Emergency Medical Care. He oversees continuous professional development for the Ambulance Service, HMC. With over 32 years' experience in prehospital emergency medical care, including 16 years in paramedic education and training. His contributions extend to education, research and quality improvement. He is actively involved in CPD management, skills and curriculum development, paramedic training and health professional’s education. He possesses a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for the fields of prehospital emergency and pediatric critical care..
