Dr. Khalid Al Ansari MD, FRCP-C, FAAP (PEM) is the inaugural Chairman of the Sidra Medicine Emergency Department that sees more than 80,000 children under the age of 18 years annually, including those seen as a level 1 Trauma Center: More than 500 Tier 1 and 2 patients annually. Dr. Al Ansari is the founder of National Poison Center and the founder of the Child Advocacy Program in Qatar. He is also the Chairman of the Sidra wide Hospital Resuscitation Program. Dr. Al Ansari's extensive expertise in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medical Care has helped him transform the delivery of Pediatric Emergency services to patients in Qatar. He is a qualified Pediatrician and Pediatric Emergency physician with over 17 years of experience in the field and holds Board exams in the US and Canada. He is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Weil Cornell Medical College-Qatar and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Qatar University. His research interest are in emergency respiratory diseases, gastroenteritis, pediatric sedation and child abuse in Qatar. He is the Chairman of IRB Qatar Biomedical Bank, Chairman of MOPH National Child Protection Committee and member of National Disaster Committee.

Scale (CTAS), followed by a quality improvement iniave ulizing the LEAN Sigma methodology. In 2016 she started her PEM fellowship at SickKids, followed by a one-year Simulaon fellowship. In 2018, she completed her master’s degree in health professional educaon from Aga Khan University Hospital, followed by Ph.D. in simulaon from the MGH IHP, an affiliate of Harvard, USA. She is appointed recently as Simkids Medical director. Dr. Fayyaz is the PEM internaonal fellowship program director and resuscitaon lead. Dr. Fayyaz is also the Internaonal Paediatric Simulaon Society (IPSS) - INSPIRE PED Simulaon fellowship Chair and Board of INSPIRE and IPSS directors. Being passionate about ulizing distance simulaon for community outreach and capacity building, In the last 3 years, she worked with Indus Hospital and the health network; she has implemented a simulaon-based PEM curriculum for EM residents and a one-year PEM cerficaon program with 27 physicians graduang in July 2023. A Simulaon instructor course for faculty development was implemented, and more than 50 educators have been trained for simulaon-based educaon in Pakistan. Her internaonal work connued in India, Egypt, and Ireland. In addion, at SickKids, Dr. Fayyaz is the resuscitaon lead for the competency-based medical educaon program (CBME) for Faculty, Faculty lead for the Hot wash debriefing program, Chair resuscitaon oversight commitee and ED lead for CPR coach role implementaon. Dr. Fayyaz’s interest is exploring simulaon as system and process tesng, quality improvement

Stuart’s research is strongly aligned to his everyday clinical practice as a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Physician with over 200 peer-reviewed publications. It focuses on both medical emergencies, such as status epilepticus, and common paediatric conditions, such as asthma, head injury, bronchiolitis, and the use of paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Dr. Terry Klassen is a highly regarded clinician scientist in pediatric emergency medicine who has had a highly successful academic leadership career in a variety of areas. Dr. Klassen is well known for excellence in clinical trials, as well as knowledge synthesis and translation. He is the co-founder of Pediatric Emergency Research Canada (PERC) and Scientific Director of Translating Emergency Knowledge for Kids (TREKK), a Network of Centres of Excellence in Knowledge Mobilization initiative. Through TREKK and PERC, Dr. Klassen was able to create and disseminate knowledge that has resulted in fewer hospital admissions for children with croup. Dr. Klassen has a strong vision to align pediatric research efforts across the country. In recognition of his lifetime contributions, he was inducted into the National Academy of Medicine in 2010 in the foreign associate category. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. His research has had a large impact on the practice of pediatric emergency medicine, which was recognized when he received a 2011 Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) – Canadian Medical Association Journal Top Achievements in Health Research Award. In 2020, Dr. Klassen was awarded a Canada Research Chair Tier 1 in Clinical Trials.

Dr. Gutierrez is a key opinion leader at the advisory level in the development of acute care systems at
the local, country and regional level globally, with emphasis in development of pediatric acute and
emergency care systems.
He is Immediate Past-Chair for the ACEP International EM Section, and active in the International and
Ambassador Committees. Internationally he is Immediate Past-Chair of the Pediatric Emergency
Medicine Special Interest Group of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine, and member of
the Specialty Implementation, Education, and Curriculum Committees. He is Founding and Board
Member of the first Latin American Pediatric EM Society (SLEPE).
Dr. Gutierrez is a recognized speaker both locally and in over a dozen countries where he has presented
over 100 lectures and has authored over 60 publications. His interests expand on international and
global health care arenas, development of pediatric acute care systems, pediatric trauma and critical
care in the ED, ultrasound, shock, difficult airway management and procedural sedation.
He is past Chair and Medical Director of the EMS-C Advisory Committee for Massachusetts, past Co-
Chair of the MACEP Pediatric EM Section, and has served as VP of the Global Emergency Medicine
Academy of SAEM, through AAEM International Committee has been involved in collaborating with
leading Pediatric EM topics and speakers for their international conferences.
Dr. Gutierrez has established an international reputation as a leader, supporter, and promoter of the
importance of pediatric emergency care in regions worldwide. He is sought after for his opinion, his
capacity to network, craft partnerships and engage stakeholders as he advocates for the care of children
globally.

Prior to joining Sidra Medicine as the Chief of Neurosurgery, Dr. Pople was Senior Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, UK, where he led the development of the Epilepsy Surgery and SDR services for Children and performed over 2000 pediatric neurosurgical procedures. For the first 20 years of his career he was a consultant neurosurgeon at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol dealing with over 500 cases a year including all types and head and spinal trauma.

Dr. Kuppermann has been recognized nationally and internationally for his research and mentorship with many awards. In 2017 a PEM Scientific Research Mentoring award was named after him by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, and in 2020 he was awarded the UC Davis Hibbard Williams Extraordinary Achievement Award and the Faculty Distinguished Research Award, the most prestigious awards at UC Davis. He was a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar in the U.K. and in 2010 was elected to the National Academy of Medicine. In 2022 he was the recipient of the Maureen Andrew Mentor Award from the Society for Pediatric Research.

Amna has worked in various hospitals in the UK as PEM consultant, including Birmingham Childrens' Hospital and King's College Hospital, London. She has a particular interest in examination and is a Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Angoff Board member- setting the pass rate for AKP and TAS written MRCPCH examinations. She is a member of RCPCH speciality training recruitment committee and panel chair for RCPCH subspeciality interviews.
Amna is working at Sunderland Royal Hospital as PEM consultant, where she also is involved in training and running the Emergency Nurse Practitioners course. She is currently completing an Msc. in Trauma Sciences (Military and humanitarian) at Queen Mary University, London.

Lisa Goldsworthy is a consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She started in Sidra Medicine in November 2018 as departmental lead for quality and more recently works as medical director. She has brought experience of over 20yrs as consultant in the UK and now has added 5yrs in Qatar.
The team at Sidra emergency medicine strives to sustain delivery of a high standard of care across all types of emergency presentations. It is the emergency “front door” of Sidra Medicine and is established as the pediatric major trauma centre for Qatar.
Attendances in 2023 reached 109,000. Lisa is responsible for aspects of quality and monitoring of performance.
A paediatrician by ‘upbringing’, during her career in a specialist children’s hospital, (part of University Hospitals Bristol), she worked as a general and ambulatory paediatrician, oversaw the establishment of a fully functional Pediatric Emergency department in 2001. She helped draft the UK national training curriculum for emergency physicians (RCEM) and pediatric trainees (RCPCH), for doctors sub-specializing in pediatric emergency medicine. Lisa also worked closely with local GPs (family medicine practitioner equivalents) both clinically, to establish patient pathways and also in their postgraduate training programs in pediatrics, as well as working in a unique GP with special interest (GPSI) pediatrics OP setting. The Bristol Children’s Emergency Department became the Major Trauma Centre for the South West region in 2014.
Lisa also worked as the Named Doctor for child protection for UHBristol for 9 years, until 2018 and has extensive experience of local and regional safeguarding procedures and case management. She was part of the team for setting up the nationally mandated, multiagency investigation into Childhood Unexpected Death.
Main goals at present are: to keep training enthusiastic young graduates, develop Sidra Clinical Audit program and maintain high standard clinical care through both individual practices and systems improvements.

Yazeed Eldos, MD is an Attending Physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He serves as the Medical Director of the Qatar Poison Center, and Director of the Medical Toxicology Fellowship Program at Sidra Medicine. Interests include Addiction Medicine, and Heavy Metal Toxicity.

Dr Muhammad Ather, MBBS, DPM, MRCPsych is currently working as Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Sidra Medicine and Assistant Professor of clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College Doha. He is Chair of Psychiatry Scientific Committee for Grand rounds, Chair Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) for ACGME Fellowship Programme and Director for CAMHS Sidra Outpatient. Whilst in Sidra Dr Ather has authored book chapters, peer review papers and had been a valued reviewer for many high impact medical journals. Dr Ather is a member of Qatar National Mental Health & Wellbeing Priority Population Group-Taskforce for Co-Occurring Disorders and he has co-authored a national document on co-occurring disorders. Dr Ather also worked as a Member, International Advisory Board of Journal of Pakistan Psychiatric Society which is Published by Pakistan Psychiatric Society, Pakistan.
Before Joining Sidra Dr. Muhammad worked Aneurin Bevin University Health Board (ABUHB), in UK as a consultant Child, Adolescent Psychiatrist, and Led the community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services for the Caerphilly County borough, he also led the Child and Adolescent substance misuse service for the ABUHB. Dr Ather worked as a GMC approved clinical supervisor, mentor and ABUHB lead for teaching and training of medical students and child psychiatry trainees. He has been teaching child psychiatry for more than 17 years. He was an examiner for Cardiff Medical School and has regularly organized training for MRCPsych candidates. He has organized and delivered training to schoolteachers, social workers, police officers and other allied health professionals on child mental health and child protection. Dr Ather was member of Complex Needs (CN) and Integrated Service for Children with Additional Needs (ISCAN) panels of Caerphilly County, Wales, UK.
Dr Ather has over 25 years of clinical experience. Dr Ather is highly experienced in assessing and managing common, rare and complex psychiatric and behavioral disorders of the child and adolescent population. He is particularly interested in the psychopharmacological management of neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, and Tourette’s), substance misuse disorders, mood disorders, early intervention for psychosis and eating disorders. Dr Ather was ABUHB Lead Child Psychiatrist for psychopharmacological treatments for neuro-developmental Disorders in Children and Adolescent.
Dr Ather strongly believes in confidentiality, informed consent and consentitual sharing of information.
Dr Ather is an international speaker, and has delivered talks on neuro developmental disorders (ADHD, Autism), substance misuse disorders, Confidentiality, first episode psychosis, eating disorders and stress related psychiatric problems. Dr Ather has special interest in the management of Challenging behaviors associated with autism spectrum disorder.

Miguelle Aoun is a seasoned clinical nurse specializing in Emergency care, boasting a decade of experience in the field. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Lebanese American University and is currently pursuing her MSc in Critical Care and Leadership at the University of Glasgow. Miguelle plays a pivotal role as the Child and Mental Health Service (CAMHS) nurse in the Emergency Department. She is instrumental in educating nurses and primary care practitioners on managing suicidal patients. Certified as a Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor with the American Heart Association, Miguelle is also actively involved in emergency research, she is currently the research nurse for the clinical trial being led in ED.
